iPod VS PC

I love this article! I can absolutely relate and am absolutely convinced that people would study more if they had an iPhone, or other smart phone. I do, however, want to preface this with the class has to have useful materials accesible via internet or app. I think an app or podcasts would be best simply because going through your phones browser might take too much time/effort to be able to access it in short spurts. I know you always mentions podcasts in class but I just haven't seen how to get podcasts to work regularly in my classroom so I haven't been motivated enough to try them. (I also don't want to put all that much effort into them if most of my students don't have phones that could access them, but I guess I could still put them on my website.) We do a lot of group work and short of simply videotaping a group, podcasts wouldn't happen all that often. I can have students create videos that explain, or tape myself doing a lesson, etc. but most of my time is spent facilitating groups and I wonder how effective/helpful videos would be if a student would just watch another group work. I suppose that would be a good action research project!
